Thai yoga massage

Done on the floor on a special mat. It is a gentle, deep realignment of the body: stretches, work with the joints, the muscles and the energy lines. It releases tight spots, improves flexibility and restores mobility without hard pressure.

Thai yoga massage: work with the legs and hip joints on a mat
Thai yoga massage: a seated back extension
Thai yoga massage: a gentle supine twist
combinations

What it pairs well with

It pairs beautifully with a classic table massage. Together they cover the whole body properly: the classic massage relaxes and works the muscles, while Thai yoga massage adds stretch, traction and an overall sense of lightness.

The combination is especially good when you want both to unwind and to feel your body pulled back together.

who it is for

When it is worth coming in

  • The body feels stiff — bending, turning or reaching has become noticeably harder
  • You want deep work, but hard pressure and pain are not for you
  • Desk work — the pelvis and lower back barely move all day
  • Training and physical load: the muscles are tight and there is not enough stretching
  • A classic massage has become routine and you would like a different format
  • You want to relax and to get your lightness back in a single session

What Thai yoga massage costs

The price depends only on how long the session lasts. Thai yoga massage can be booked on its own or added to a classic massage — in that case take 30 minutes more.

questions

Thai yoga massage — common questions

No. Thai yoga massage is done in loose clothes you can move in, and no oil is used. A T-shirt and soft trousers are perfect; if you do not have them with you, we will sort something out on the spot.

It should not. The stretches are passive, I build up the intensity gradually and keep watching your reaction. Tell me when you have reached your limit and I will stop short of that point.

A classic massage is done on a table with oil and works mostly with the muscles. Thai is done on a mat, fully clothed, and adds stretching, traction and joint work. The two combine easily within one session.

No. I work within the range of motion you have today and I will not try to put you into the splits. The amplitude comes back by itself, session by session.

Usually 60 or 90 minutes. If we add Thai to a classic massage, take 90 or 120 minutes — that leaves enough time for both the muscles and the stretching.

Yes. Massage is not done with acute infections and fever, oncology, serious heart and vascular disease, bleeding, purulent processes and open wounds, or active tuberculosis. With caution and after talking to your doctor — during pregnancy, with varicose veins, a flare-up of a chronic condition, or hypertension. Do tell me separately about joint injuries, hernias and joint replacements: I will leave stretches out of those areas.
